Rengstorff Green Complete Streets entered Mountain View's five-year CIP through Council consensus in 2023. The adopted project combines protected bikeways and safety improvements with green stormwater infrastructure, street trees, and native pollinator landscaping.
A Caltrans SB-1 grant-funded study now evaluates the corridor, with preliminary design retained and increased to $2 million in the FY 2025-26 CIP.

Funding
This funding supports the current feasibility and alternatives study, Capital Improvement Program (CIP) 25-39. The larger programmed Green Complete Street project extends from El Camino Real to US 101.
What the grant is funding
The study is intended to enhance safety, incorporate green street elements, and improve multimodal access for people walking, bicycling, using public transit, and driving along the 1.7-mile Rengstorff corridor from El Camino Real to Leghorn Street.
